Our Goal
“To help people be better, not be best”
This app and website were built to help our recovery based on three things we know truest about Aussies.
Three Things We Know About Aussies
We're a bloody resilient bunch.
Through droughts, fires, floods, and everything in between. Australians get back up. That spirit is in our DNA.
We love sport in the sun with our mates and our family.
Connection through activity, outdoors, together. It's how we bond, how we heal, how we find joy.
We never want to show weakness by asking for help with our problems.
This is our challenge. The thing we need to work on. Because asking for help isn't weakness, it's wisdom.
The Context
Why We Built This
The Sucker Punch
COVID hit Australians and the world with a sucker punch no one was ready for.
In a time of already high levels of obesity, depression, anxiety and suicide rates. We locked ourselves away from friends and family for the good of the nation.
The Noise
Social media does a good job of making sure we never feel good enough. Often confirming the annoying little voice of self-doubt that lives inside us all.
Why? To keep us looking at ads. Magic pills, dream creams, 10-day diets. Abs at 50. No wrinkles at 60. Infinite wealth after 3 days.
The Truth
But we all know the truth. Life finds a way of making sure we are all spectacular at being...
AVERAGE AF.
Once we accept this, we can start to build our best life. Not someone else's highlight reel. Our life. One small step at a time.
The Power of Twenty Percent
At the heart of WOW Factor is a simple truth: you don't need to change everything to change your life.
The 20% philosophy asks a gentle question: What if you focused on improving just 20% of your day? Not a complete overhaul. Not a rigid schedule. Just a few moments of intentional choice.
After work and sleep, most of us have about 6–8 hours of “our own” time each day. Twenty percent of that is just 70–100 minutes. That's the time to take a walk, read a chapter, meditate for ten minutes, call a friend, review your budget, or simply sit in stillness.
We've found that when people commit to this small percentage, without guilt, without pressure, the other 80% naturally begins to shift. Not because you forced it. Because you grew into it.
“Small hinges swing big doors.”
The Big Picture
Holistic Wellness
You have a choice. Invest in yourself now through free will, or wait until life forces you into the reactive system. We reckon the first path is a whole lot better.

Mitigating Strategies
We're not against doctors, hospitals, or medication — they save lives every day. But we believe the best medicine is the stuff you do before you need medicine. That's what WOW Factor is all about.
Preventive vs Mitigating
We believe that Australia has lost its way.
We've become a society of extremes — on both sides of the fence. We're either grinding ourselves into the ground chasing some version of success that was sold to us, or we've completely checked out, numbing ourselves with screens, substances, and distractions. The middle ground — just being a decent, balanced, healthy human — has somehow become the road less travelled.
Mental health issues are skyrocketing. Anxiety, depression, burnout — they're not just buzzwords anymore, they're the lived reality for millions of Australians. And while awareness has improved (which is great), the system is almost entirely built around reacting to the damage — not preventing it.
Think about that for a second.
We wait until people are broken, then try to fix them. We wait until the anxiety becomes crippling, then offer a prescription. We wait until someone can't function at work, then suggest a mental health plan. The whole system is geared toward mitigating — mopping up the mess after the fact.
But what if we flipped the script?
What if, instead of building a bigger safety net at the bottom of the cliff, we built a bloody fence at the top? That's what preventive wellness is. It's not about waiting for the wheels to fall off — it's about maintaining the vehicle so they never do.
Here's a way to think about it: imagine you own a Mercedes. Beautiful car. You wouldn't wait until the engine seized to change the oil, would you? You wouldn't ignore the dashboard warning lights and just keep driving until the thing breaks down on the side of the highway. No — you'd service it regularly, keep the tyres inflated, use the right fuel. You'd look after it, because it's valuable.
Now — your body and mind are infinitely more valuable than any car. So why do we treat them worse? Why do we skip the maintenance, ignore the warning signs, and only take action when something goes seriously wrong?
That's the gap WOW Factor exists to fill.
We're not here to replace therapists, doctors, or medication. We're here to sit in that space before all of that — in the free will zone. The place where you still have choices. Where small, daily actions — movement, nutrition, mindset, connection, rest — compound into a life that's genuinely well. Not perfect. Not optimised to death. Just... well.
The reactive system will always exist, and thank God it does. But it shouldn't be the first option. It should be the last resort. And the more people who invest in the preventive side — in their own free will wellness — the less pressure there is on a system that's already bursting at the seams.
That's what this site is about. That's what WOW Factor is about. Giving everyday Australians the tools, the knowledge, and the motivation to take ownership of their own wellness — before the system has to do it for them.
What We Believe
These aren't just words on a page. They're the lens through which we build everything we do.
Consistency, Not Intensity
We don't believe in burning bright and burning out. Real transformation happens through small, daily choices. Showing up again and again, even imperfectly.
Progress Over Perfection
There are no gold stars here for perfect days. We celebrate the messy middle: the days you tried, the moments you chose to begin again.
Walking Beside, Not Ahead
We're not gurus on a mountain. We're fellow travellers on the same path, sharing what we've learned and learning from you in return.
The Whole Person Matters
You're not just a body to optimise or a mind to sharpen. You're a complete human being, and every dimension of your wellbeing deserves attention.
Five Dimensions of a Whole Life
True wellness isn't one-dimensional. We honour all the parts that make you, you.
Physical
Honouring our bodies through movement, rest, and nourishment, not punishment.
Intellectual
Cultivating curiosity, learning, and mental growth at your own pace.
Emotional
Nurturing our inner world with compassion, connection, and honest reflection.
Spiritual
Finding meaning, purpose, and peace, however that looks for you.
Financial
Building security and freedom through mindful choices, not restriction.
The Walk, Not the Race
In a world obsessed with transformation challenges and 30-day fixes, we offer something different: the long walk.
We don't promise you'll become a new person in six weeks. We promise you'll become more yourself: more grounded, more balanced, more at peace with the person you're becoming.
Because wellness isn't about arriving. It's about the quality of your steps along the way.
Your pace is perfect
There's no schedule but your own
Community over competition
We lift each other, never compare
Rest is part of the journey
Pause when you need to
A Note on Our Approach
The guidance and suggestions shared through WOW Factor reflect lived experience and community wisdom, not medical or professional advice. We encourage you to always consult qualified professionals for specific health, mental health, or financial concerns.
When we connect you with professional services or practitioners through our platform, rest assured that all providers are vetted and certified as qualified practitioners in their respective fields of wellbeing and health.
“We walk beside our community, not ahead of them. We celebrate the walk around the block as much as the marathon. We believe that showing up is the hardest part, and that consistency, not intensity, creates lasting change.”
No pressure. No expectations. Just a first step.
